SENSIBILIDAD DE Hyalella curvispina SHOEMAKER, 1942 (CRUSTACEA, AMPHIPODA) AL COBRE, FENANTRENO Y SALINIDAD

Los bioensayos constituyen una herramienta útil para la detección de posibles impactos de los contaminantes en la biota. Hyalella curvispina es un anfípodo epibentónico nativo de América del Sur utilizado para evaluar la toxicidad de muestras ambientales. Sin embargo, persisten vacíos de información respecto a su sensibilidad a ciertos contaminantes y a su tolerancia a la salinidad, por lo que esta investigación aporta nuevos datos para caracterizar su respuesta. En este trabajo se analizó la sensibilidad frente a cobre y fenantreno de Hyalella curvispina, así como su tolerancia a la salinidad. La LC50 96h obtenida para el cobre fue de 184 µg Cu/l, mientras que la LC50 10 días fue de 68 µg Cu/l. En cuanto a la salinidad, los resultados mostraron una LC50 96h = 13, la LC50 10 días = 11 y una inhibición significativa en el crecimiento del 18% respecto al control en los organismos expuestos a 17.2 de salinidad. Para el fenantreno no se obtuvo respuesta letal significativa en ninguno de los tratamientos aplicados, sugiriendo que H. curvispina tendría una mayor tolerancia al fenantreno que otros anfípodos, no obstante, estos resultados preliminares deberían verificarse abarcando mayores niveles de exposición.
